IT's done after a month of tire kicking:O)

finally decide to go with a savage , (I already have a 700vs in .223) I order a 12 benchrest dual port, and hope it will perform well. I found some warne tactical rings and also a Warne base for savage but one question stay open is the warne m666 tactical will fit with dual port? on the package it is state for accu-trigger savege round receiver.

thank you.

I've been doing the same tire kicking for a while now. I bent between the F-TR and the Dual port. I don't really need a dual port but I like the stock on the dual way more than the F-TR. Could you post some pics? Keep us informed on how she performs.

Nice rig. I'm thinking of building a custom target rifle based on the dual port or FT/R action. Did your Warne base fit properly on the dual port action?

Would that dual porting not affect(reduce) the stiffness of the action? Just trying to get my head around it, that's all...Ben

Warnes soud to fit perfectly did not affect at all the port so it will be excellent.

For the stifness this one of the question that came into my mind but it look so stiff and I could balance constraints by having equal apperture on both side ?

I will give them a chance to perform I am ready to mount the scope onto it.

I will start it with a nikon buckmaster 6x18x40 sf no more budget at this time will see later on to find out a 36X.

The same thought crossed my mind. On the other hand the action is solid top and bottom with smaller ejection ports than the regular repeater action. It would be interesting to hear from folks who have tested the benchrest rifle extensively.
