Hi guys I have a Savage 12BLVSS 223 Rem just like to here what you guys think of them are they any good for long or precision shooting I have a Bushnell 4-16x40 4200 scope, burris signature zee rings (nickel coated steel), Leupold QRW 2 piece bases (steel).
- Bedding job using Devcon 10110.

I had one with the choate stock. Very accurate but unfortunately I sold it. The new owner reloaded for it and showed me some of his targets. Surprisingly he had a target showing a 1/2" 5 shot group at 300 yards. When I had it I never grouped it at 300 yards but I often could hit clay pigeons out to 400 yards.
 
I have a 12 BTCSS which is basically the same thing, just a differently shaped stock. Out of the box shot like crap. I figured "give it 100 rounds to break it in" before judging it. Still shot like crap. I removed it from the stock, and found the wood-metal inletting looked like it was done by a grade 10 shop student. So out came the chisels and dremel tool. I hogged out lots of wood, propperly pillar bedded it, and then gave it a proper epoxy bedding job. (I admit, I screwed up the first epoxy bed attempt, my fault). first trip to the range, without even really trying, 1/3" groups at 100. Satisfied. Not happy about the work I had to do, but happy with the final product.
 
With a 1:9 twist barrel shooting 69 gr bullets you are good to 600 yards. I would also try some 75 gr Hornady Amax bullets with 2 scoops of powder and see if they work at longer ranges.
 
I shoot a Savage FVSS 12 in .223. I have shot it out to 1000 with the 75 Gr Amax - in factory barrel - if the winds are light - it's ok. I have since done a lot of work (new trigger, stock, barrel) and think that out to 800 it would be good - 1000 in light to moderate winds. You gotta push them to a high velocity.
