Right now, finding 308 brass may be a royal pain. Winchester is just fine if you can't find Lapua (right now any US brand from the same lot will do). CCI BR2 primers, Varget powder, 155gr Berger, Amax, Lapua, MK (they all shoot, just which one will the barrel love?????).
I would suggest the Lee collet neck die, Redding body die, Forster BR Seater. Will make ammo with near zero runout.
If you prefer the bushing concept, Forster and Redding both make superb dies.
Forget barrel break in beyond cleaning out the packing grease - this you really need to get rid of. Just start shooting and only clean when accuracy falls off. That might be a few hundreds of rds later. Clean only as much as needed to restore accuracy.
yes, your barrel will look green from the copper fouling.
Most factory barrels need to be dirty for best performance. I have yet to shoot a Savage that didn't do its best when filthy. Let the target tell you what to do.
Bed that action- critical to your success.
I like Farrell bases and Burris Rings to set up the scope for LR. Gives you a way to shim precisely to max the scope adjustment.
A quality grease on the sear/trigger contact, behind the bolt lugs, on the camming surface on the bolt body. Light oil on everything else. Go have fun.
If you intend to shoot with a front bipod, the Remple pod is likely the best you will meet. Costs a few rubles but well worth the bucks spent.
Let me know if I can help sourcing your stuff.
