Here's looking down range at the 1147 yard target. Up past the scope you'll see a orange dot, snow disturbed, just down from the top of the hill. 10 yards to the right of that single pine,

My 5 shot group after 3 sighting in shots.

My buddies 5 shot string.

Up at target looking back towards bench rest. By the left end of the bins.

It was a great day for shooting, windage adjustment anywhere from 50" to 90". 32 MOA of up!! Ticklish!! Next 1250 yards, then 1400, then 1500.

Rear bags are for the weak!!! ;):p

Man, you're so lucky to have an operating long range accessible in Winter. Here in Quebec, we're lucky to get past 200yds unless you go through a boatload of red tape and driving... Looks like you had a lot of fun.

Is your group the lower five hits on target?

No my group didn't include those 50 cal BMG holes. Shot a couple of different loads same powder, bullet and brass, but different primer 3 down - CCI BR and the 2 up - Win WLR's

I got cold just looking at the pictures, burrrrrrr. Sure is nice to have that kind 'range' in your backyard. Thanks for sharing.
:)

Cold or not, that is an out of this world fantastic shooting spot.

I am normally a more "tactical" looking rifle kind of guy, but those Savage F/TR rifles a very nice as are the F class rifles.

Ditles, oh I mean details.

308 cal Berger 155 BT's, 45.7grains of Varget, 2 second delay till impact, seemed like a 5 second delay for the ding to return. Launched 50 308 rounds out to 1147 and 960 yard targets.
Then I switched to the Savage LRPV in 223 and launched 30 rounds at the 960 yard target hit it twice!! 69gr BT Nosler custom competition, 23.5gr IMR 4064. 40+ feet of elevation and 25 feet of windage, 300 yard zero. 223 Barely chipped the paint off the target. Mirage was increasing all day. My shooting buddy fired a cold bore shot with my 223 at 200 yards and proceeded to fire a 3 shot group measuring .25 inches. It looked like a small clover leaf.
Heres the two Savage toys, 12F/TR .308 and 12 LRPV .223.

No damaged snowmobiles on Sunday? :D

I think you scared them away on Saturday! As far as my shoulder.....it's being iced at the moment. I still have some more 45-70 load development to do yet. Gotta get my grizzly bear/elephant load figured out. I'm not sure if a 420gr bullet going 2000 ft/s is stout enough.:)

looks like a real nice spot to shoot, how is the sound on those plates? I have been looking for a way to make my gongs ring louder.
maybe I should just get some of those sound amplifying shooting ear muffs.

are those shooting benches steel plate?
