Found the rifle i was looking for in stainless. Was looking for a blued wood version til I found out they made a stainless model. First choice was a 260 but they dont chamber it in that so 7mm08 was my second choice. It ships tomorrow. Should have it friday. 5.65 lbs almost as lite as my kimber ascent was.

They actually made it heavier putting it in a synthetic stock...not by much but the wood stock stainless would have been better.

I gave my daughter a wood stocked 7-08 lightweight for christmas. Very finicky to load for, only likes nosler bullets. Shoots nosler BT's a little over an inch, hornady sst btsp shoot 4-5"

Wasn't aware of this model. Wow, that's light for a Savage.

If it had better stock could be interesting.

After quick barrel break in it shoots 150 ballistic tips around 5/8 inch so im pretty happy. Thats 45 grains of h4350, virgin lapua 308 case necked down in my redding fl 7-08 die, fed 210m primer and bullet seated 0.01 off lands.

It's the bullet not the rifle. My Vanguard doesn't like the sst as well.

Shoots a 150 nosler at 2700 fps on the lab radar doppler chrono. Pretty impressed with it and the 20 inch barrel is nice for packin.

Where did you order it from? That's the exact gun I'm after but in 243 and cant find one anywhere.

Cabelas is dumping them from their online stock due to poor sales. I saw them on clearance price for $650 (non magnum calibers) and you bet your butt I scooped one in 7mm-08. Looks like they're getting pretty light on calibers but you might get lucky. They seem to take them down as they sale out but one day a few will pop back up and sell again.

Good luck

$650 for a stainless synthetic rifle that weighs 5 lbs 10.4 oz is pretty impressive. Would make a great sheep gun for someone on a budget.

Anyone scale it to confirm the factory spec?

The $650 sale price was for the 11/111 LWH - matte blued / wood stock. I have yet to have seen a price tag on a 16/116 stainless synthetic version, they are new and rare. Nechako is sold out according to their current inventory list. I was hoping savage would do a SS/SYN version when they first introduced the 11/111 LWH, might just have to pick one up one of these years.

My bet is, you're going to end up really liking the 7-08. :)

I scooped the only 16 lwh nechako had apparently.

For all you saying that the wood version or the model 11 was the one as sale.. you're wrong.

A quick search could have shown you it is in fact the model 16 weather warrior on sale right here.. by now there are only a few calibers left so you probably missed out.

Mine should be in this week so maybe I will upload pictures if you still can't believe your eyes...
