Savage .17 HMR,comments please.

the mags are kinda finicky at times and the bolt will start out rough feeling....both get better with use

these guns will do as well or outshoot any hmr out there...no gripes there

had one...loved it...sold it and bought a .22LR strictly based on ammo prices...17HMR ammo is rediculous when you can handload .223 for the same price and get way more explosive effects.

sorry to stray off topic....that rifle is an awesome buy if you want an HMR

I have the thumbhole version, and it is awesome....just wish there was a bigger mag for it, and the mag is a little awkward compared to a 10/22 mag. But other than that, I'd buy a Savage any day, love it.

I have a 93 but not all tacticool and stuff. No fluted barrel either. So far I'm not really good enough to shoot it and its too expensive to get better. If I were to go back in time I would have gotten a .22 purely for price of ammo. But damn do I love that gun. You will enjoy it for sure if you get it.

I had one and sold it as all it seemed to like was the 20grain loads and they were scarce around here. It would shoot 1" groups with the 20grain and 4" with the 17 grain at 100.

I also had a 93 in 17HMR but disliked how rough the mag fit into the well and that the mags were all 5 rounds. Looked all over but never found a bigger one.

Ammo price is unacceptable to me as a reloader. My .204 does better for less money.

i have a 93 17 and also had a mag problem ,got the waranty guy to tune it up and it is smooth as pie now , ammo is more than a 22 and less than a 223 it will out shoot any 22 out there so you will have to make up your own opinion
