Savage 17hmr

the best? who knows. But as for awesome 93r17 BVTS. Most accurate thing I own. Accutrigger is great, and calibre is the most fun you can have with rimfire. I hunt butterflies with them on warm days! :D
 
If I were you I'd make sure to get one with a heavy barrell. I got the 93R17-FV which is the plain jane black sythetic stock with blued heavy barrel, it was a great price from Wholesale Sports. I totally love the rifle, great buy.
Only complaint of mine is that the synthetic stock feels a tad on the slim side, the wooden stock might have been a better choice.
 
Great just went out and bought the Savage with the thumb hole stock... very nice gun... 3x9-40 is the scope i will mount since these guns only shoot 200 yd
