How come there are so many Savage 17hmr rifles in the exchange forum. I am considering one in 93R17 TR or 93R17 BTV are they just to heavy. I think the people like the trigger, is there a better rifle out of the box for the price?

I have had my savage 17 hmr for 3 years and after 1000 rounds I have never had a FTF.
My very best groupings are just over 1 moa with Fed, CCI and Hornady ammo. I haven't tried to find the best ammo.

They really are the best value on the market. Marlins are supposed to be good too but I haven't tried one. There are lots of them on the EE because so many people have them. I think the only reason most people sell them is because they dont use it enough.

x2 :) I think it's like the Honda civic used market~just so many of them around, you're bound to see them come-up for sale more. I had a BTV myself and sold it, but the ONLY reason (in my case) was that my chubby cheeks made it difficult to get my eye low enough to use the scope comfortably. However, I'm buying another Savage heavy barrel/accutrigger rimfire next week~I think they are the best value out there.

I have a beautiful CZ452 but it is very heavy, I have a 93 in 22wmr and it is a great gun. Not a CZ but much more portable and user freindly
