What are a guys options for rebarreling a savage in 204 to a 1 in 10 twist. I’m not looking for anything special I’d just like it to not look like a shotgun pattern with 40gr pills.
 
I've tried several different types of ammo, with no luck. Even reloading it's very touchy. I finally managed to get some good groups out of berger 35gr. They just don't hit hard enough to reliably take coyote past 200yd.
 
Order a Shilen prefit to the specs you want. I rebarreled a model 12 in 204 after burning out the factory barrel. I kept the factory twist rate, and went with a heavy profile. Developed a load using the 39 grain Sierra Blitz King that would reliably print 5 shot groups in the 0.3's. Was a great gopher gun at any range.
