Recently bought a Savage 212 here on EE. Shells are not lifting high enough at the front and ram into the lower feed ramp edge. Both lengths do the same but the 3" gets closer(front of shells higher) than the 2 3/4" - but still won't go up the spout.
Any body know of successful fixes or work-arounds?
Still having feeding/function issues to sort out - the 3" "sort of" feed "sometimes".
The ammo recommended by Savage in their manual are Remington accutips 3" - wouldn't fire them at all - dropped hammer three times on 2 out the 5 in the box before giving up. Firing pin protrusion is .063 so that checks out. Tomorrow will be stripping bolt and thoroughly clean and lube it. Maybe then I will be able to get the Rems to launch.
But plenty accurate with other ammo (no failures to fire) - instantly called that one that went right when I touched it off. Trigger pull measures just over 4 lbs. Love those Leupold 1-4 shotgun scopes.
