Hey guys~I'm considering buying one of these shotguns, and remember a thread (I think on CGN..?) about the bolt-action Savage and it included a hunting report. I remember seeing a photo of a hunter with a nice deer and the gun, but remember the thread being mostly about the gun, and his satisfaction with it.

Does anybody else remember this one? I just searched, and can't find it. If you have one of these guns, or know where I might find that report, I'd greatly appreciate it. Any input/experiences with the gun would be appreciated too.

Thanks!

210

I have a 210 which is 2 seasons old. I love it. It is very accurate and handles nicely. I do wish it had the detach. mag as the 212 and the accu trigger. It is not nearly as fast as a pump or auto but I think you would be hard pressed to find fine that will out shoot it. You really do need to use 3" shells or the feeding is a bit shotty. It really handles the recoil of 3" slugs very well.

I think you would be very pleased with the newer version.

I believe the thread your talking about is the same guy that had it for sale a couple of weeks ago, if you're interested (although asking for a tad bit more then I would pay). I am also giving this or the 220 some serious consideration myself. I have only heard of good things in regards to their accuracy.

Your all talking about me. Not so much over priced for a slug gun that clover leafs 3 shot with 3 inch mag Dual Bonds at 100 yards, and drills 2 liter milk cartons at 250 yards with the SA.B.R reticle. Not to mention the money you save by KNOWING what ammo it likes to eat best and not wasting $20 per 5 rounds of different ammo trying to find it.

Its a beast and I love it. Seriously thinking of pulling it again. It put some serious hurt on 2 deer this past season.

and to the starter of this thread.. I believe you were talking about these threads......

Epps has your 210F for 439$ and they come with a scope base;)

i know.. I seen that after.. and dropped the price a bit a while back. lol One sold on here for just over $900 in the fall. ;) Some one should snatch that up ... and the 1 piece weaver base is standard

To the OP, Save a few Hundred and buy an H&R Ultra Slug Hunter, you could buy it, glass it with mid-range optics and have money left for ammunition for the price of a Savage and a low end scope. Also it will shoot similarly to the Savage, at least the three or four I've seen would, if you look at all the folks in the states where slug-gunning is religion in some places you see a lot of USHs.
