I"m in the market for one of these guns, i like how the browning has an optional wooden stock and iron sights. I hate the price though (around a grand or better) The savage is a lot nicer price wise at 490 bucks. I own a few savages and like them a lot, but the savage only comes in synthetic and based on the ones i"ve held do not have irons. I would rather buy the savage but i do not want to scope the gun. Is it possible to drill the barrel? for sights ? or is there other sight options i should look at? I have other shotgun actions so I would appreciate this thread regarding the above guns only please

Thanks

I know you can get peep sight rears that mount to a weaver rail but the front post would have to be silver sodered? on. The company is necg or something like that. New england custom I'm sure is the name. They're expensive bout a $100 for the rear. A buddy used them on a rifle and they were nice. I don't know if they have a no gunsmith front sight. My buddies rifle had the whole front ramp and everything put on and reblued. Good luck in what ever you choose

I don't believe the Abolt is made in a 20 ga. ?? I bought the 12 ga version last fall and that was because Browning had said that was it... I have the hunter verison, its a beautiful gun, but kicks like a mule off the bench, and that was only with 2 3/4 Hornady's and Lightfields. Didn't really get a good "sight in" so to speak because it hurt and I got wandering. I'll take it back soon though and that will be the only gun for the day. It like the Hornady's, Lightfields were way low and never bothered to open the Copper solids I brought. Mine is wearing a Burris FF2 3x9x40, overkill but it does the job.

Heres the link off Browning's site to the Stalker verison
