Savage .223 advice.

Looks like I may have sold a few of my guns so time for that .223 savage I have been wanting . Looking for advice on which model to get and also loads, bullets (make,style and weight) and reasonable expectations for groups at 100 yards. I am leaning toward the single shot with the fluted heavy barrel in the laminated prone style stock. Thanks in advance.

I think you'll be thrilled with whatever model you get...

My 12FV in .223 does really well, and with factory ammo as I don't know how to reload.

This is what it can do with Federal Gold Medal factory ammo (not the american eagle stuff, it doesn't like that)

It will do about .75" groups with Winchester white box 55gr FMJ... and it averages .5" with Hornady 55gr varmint express...

I'm thrilled with it, and I'm sure any of the other models will do just as well.

I dont have an actual ad on CGN...I have a 700P in 223 and one in 762 and I found as of late the 12FV is taking a back seat
