Savage .223 rem fail to eject issue

I will try to pursuade it to come out with a block of wood.

Success! It took some beating, but it came out enough that I could get a grip on it with pliers and tug it out. There was a small burr raised on the front edge of the notch for the retaining pin and that was dragging in the bore and preventing the ejector from moving forward. The spring was fairly munched, probably from my pushing the ejector in while trying to get it to pop back out. I pulled it back to where it looks approximately OK and stoned off the burr, but I will be replacing both pieces with new parts.

The rifle now ejects properly, albeit pretty weakly with the mangled spring and ejector. Thanks to all for the help.

SUCCESS!!!! The extractor savage sent works perfectly!!!!!! I AM SO HAPPY! the day I got this thing it wouldn't eject empties and I thought it might never. But its such a accurate gun I thought I would live with it. But by just throwing in a new extractor savage sent for free, it put 20 rounds threw, and ejected every case a foot to the right! :)

Muahahahaha watch out gophers, I no longer have a single shot!

I also suffered ejection issues :D. Got replacement parts from Savage and all issues were fixed.

Thanks for the links, I did manage to get it pulled out and working OK. I found a pdf on the Savage sight that showed an exploded view of the bolt, which helped.

I just ordered a replacement ejector and spring, $10 shipped from Savage. That should sort my issues out permanently.
