Savage .223 to .308

hi guys...

I have a potential project for winter
thinking to convert my .223 short action Savage 12LRPV to ..260 with custom barrel....actually, to have two barrels for the same action and stock...

I know that I need a new bolt head and baffle.....
so, the question: are the long action and short action heads different? talking about long and short actions with the same bolt face (.30-06 and .308 for example)...

any input is welcome

most same gen actions use the same parts. BUT you need to set the firing pin protrusion for your particular set of parts.

If you dont need your 223 bolt head, let me know. I would be able to trade you a 308
