savage 22hornet ?

well since you got it for free i wouldn't waste time and money refinishing it its really not a collector it may have sentimental value to someone 200 at most if your lucky good luck

I would clean it up, buy some ammo and have fun. They are usually pretty good shooters and make great ground hog rifles. Finding a side mount for a scope might be a challenge, but if you can and mount a scope on it you would be good to go.

List it for $200 and it will be gone in seconds. Your PM inbox will be full as well.
I just bought one, scoped for north of 3 brown ones. Why? Cuz the 30-30 and 222 needed kin.
BTW- Weaver makes a side mount (2 piece) for them. IIRC, they use a #2 side mount.

If you want a "kick around" rifle that is suitable for fox sized game, the 340 is good enough. The ammo has to feed from the magazine, you can't throw a round in front of the bolt and close it, if you try it will miss the chamber. Accuracy tends to be all right, if uninspiring. They were never intended to be a high end rifle, and with that in mind they won't disappoint. Keep it if you are looking for a small bore truck gun, but it's not an enthusiast's rifle.
