Savage 24J-DL .410/22 saved from the smelter!

Hi all!

I've included some photos, I have a rough idea of its value but wanted to make sure. Bores are perfect, wood is 9/10 and blueing is 8/10. As you can see in the photos it got some love in the safe. Please help me by telling me what you think this Savage is worth!

Got to wonder how many fine guns are turned in for destruction by elderly people fearful of the Nazis in Ottawa....

At a age where I get to see unfortunately a lot of buds moving on and from my experiences it has nothing to do with ottawa or fear. It is those left behind have ZERO interest in firearms and think they have a value so just want them out of the house so I blame the gun owner for not making arrangements prior to his death to ensure his guns live on. It is no different with old car parts or other collectables he may have been into
I just picked up a load of model A parts two days ago that were on the way to the scrap yard. I dropped them off to a bud that has two model a's and he was some glad to get them. The lady I got them from never even tried to find a new home and other than I called and asked they were gone for rebar

So the to do here is to make sure your guns will be taken care of either in your will or whatever

I guess if you were sitting on anything of value in firearms it would not be seen as funny . For me I have downsized my herd as I aged but there is still enough to buy the mrs a new vehicle of her choice with some left over for a trip or whatever vs being handed in for rebar
Just because I didnot take the time to deal with it. In my case the rider on my insurance policy for them would help her also big time since they are clearly outlined there with values
