I have a hand me down from my grandfather. The barrel and receiver have seized together. in the process of trying to get it unstuck, the locking bolt assembly broke on one side.

I still havn't been able to get it apart, but want to start trying to figure out where I can find a replacement part. Any ideas?

Also any idea how to unstick the locking mechanism?

First and foremost:

Have you verified the chamberS are empty?

Run a cleaning rod down the barrel, being very careful not to put your hand or body in front of the muzzle. Compare the length to the barrel and chamber, you should be able to see very easily if it stops short of the back of the receiver.

yes they are unloaded. first thing I verified

I've had good luck ordering parts from Numrich in the USA. They will ship to Canada and I ordered some Savage 24 parts from them.
Numrich is currently more of a waiting game than usual. It appears they are holding out on Canadian orders until Canada Post sorts themselves out. There is a message about it at the top of their homepage.
