Just took my new Savage 12FV in .308 to the range and I am impressed. First 3 bullets through the barrel were within 1" at 50 yrds with 2 holes touching (maybe the 3rd was the flyer.) Once its broke in, it can only get better. Went out the 100 yrd range and finally got on the bullseye.
The one thing that needs to be addressed is the vulcanized rubber butt pad that Savage uses. My shoulder has been brutalized after only about 35 rounds. I was using 150gr American Eagle FMJ to get the scope dialed in. So I'm gonna source out a "Limbsaver"
One things fer sure....theres gonna be venison in the freezer this fall.
