500-600 is about double what mine is costng me to ge from 22-250 to 358 win.
If you just stay inside the '06 family with your original gun, and want to do a straight swap (no new stock or anything else) it can probably be done for around 250-300 depending on your gunsmiths mark up and rates. I ordered my barrel from Midway-USA, and had them ship me (to my gunsmith only, business to business only with proper paperwork etc, etc, etc) an Adams and Benett prethreaded prechambered barrel for 225 after duty, taxes and gunsmith markup. The smith is currently installing said barrel for me for $75, so that puts my barrel swap right at 300 bucks. If you have access to gunsmith tools (mainly an action wrench, and a savage barrel nut wrench) you can do the swap at home, headspace gauges are reccomended too, but a FL sized case will work as well.
