savage 3400 bolt action 30-30

it's a model 340C first off, second is it is worth more with the scope mount. This model uses a side mount scope base, without the scope base your looking at 275-350 pending condition, add 50 for the base

if it is the short 18.5 version it is worth about 50 more.

I have had A and C models with full barrels. Light. Easy to carry. Accurate enough for most hunting. Good gun to carry and not worry about.

As said... it is model "340-C" not "3400." I have bought 340's in excellent- mint condition for $275-$300... that one is not mint condition... however if you just gotta have it, then it is worth what you are willing to pay for it (to you)... on resale you will get back $250-$275ish.

The big selling feature for 340's is allowing fans of the .30/30 to load "spire point" bullets at peppier velocities to get the most out of the cartridge.

I had one when I was much younger, I thought a 30-30 in a bolt action would be kinda neat. It was ok, but the only scope mount was a side mount contraption and I shoot left, so it wasn't so good for me.

Is it drills on the side for scope mounts? I wouldn't buy one without it already drilled, you'll be adding another $100 onto it for a gunsmith to drill those holes, at which point you at as well buy an axis or whatever else is on sale
