Savage 512 Gold Wing O/U Shotguns

Does anyone have any real experience with these shotguns?

I've been very pleased with my Stevens centre fire rifle. I'm in the market for a 12 ga O/U but I'm not in the market for a several thousand dollar top of the line gun. I'm looking for an affordable field grade gun that'll shoot well and not fail before its time.

These guns are soft, they break with repeated use, I would looke elsewhere for a reliable gun unless you want to invest in some gunsmithing down the line.

bought one last year, love it, shot it alot, watch out for people who just read things and repeat it, the earlier ones supposedly had firing pin issues which got fixed. firing pins are not a big deal in my world should something happen. mine really pointed nice i feel very comfortalble with it!! for 500 plus dollars=take a chance and enjoy-Good luck B2

I had one in 28 gauge, wish I still had it. It was a great little field gun that never let me down. I picked up a fancier o/u in the same gauge and while the new one is a prettier gun, it doesn't do anything that the Stevens couldn't do.

Guy at our club had 4 of them -- The dealer kept replacing after they kept breaking firing pins. Junk -- junk -- run away! Get a yildiz or Stoeger.
