Not had my hands on a "new one". I do adore my 64's though...
Essentially the same rifle has been made by a few different companies (Cooey, Cooey for Sears, Lakfield and Savage) for many decades. I have no idea what a "new" one runs or, how it compares cost-wise with other new .22's (I no longer tease myself looking at new toys).
Like all semi .22's...they can be "quirky" with ammo (not too bad, stick with round nosed ammo). These take down and, clean very quickly and easily.
