Where could I find a replacement barrel for my Savage 64F ?

Looking for a heavy barrel preferably but not a match grade "super benchrest" barrel. Just a standard factory style heavy barrel.

Thank you

I hear replacing the barrel on a savage .22 is no easy task. It's pressed into the receiver I think?

Why do you want a heavier barrel, accuracy?

You can contact Savage directly. They are made in Canada. You might also try an ad on the EE. What happened to your current barrel that you wish to replace it? Most barrels you find will be of the same profile they have been for 50+ years.

I do have Lakefield 64B barrel here somewhere, but pretty sure it's bore is pitted.

Not so on a 64. You have to remove the barrel to access the bolt.

Barrel is held by a clamp on those model.

Current barrel is fine, I just want to see what I can get out of an heavier barrel accuracy wise

Sell it and buy a 64FV. It's cost prohibitive to rebarrel your current rifle. I have a FV. It is one of my most accurate rimfires.

This is kinda what I was thinking. Although for how reasonably priced the savages are (I love my mark II!) you can probably just buy a second one for not far off what a barrel would run you - no need to sell the first one! lol

Now, what optics should be going on it ?

Rifle will be used for ''accurate plinking'' and pest control. NO BENCH SHOOTING or nothing serious like that.

Budget is max 150$
