I have a 1945 Savage 6A semi auto in good operating/shooting condition. Wondering what it might be worth? I know they had big production runs so it's not that scarce.
Thanks for your time.

Thanks for your response - it's in pretty good shape a few dings on the stock but no major blemishes and is anice dark walnut with the cross hatching as expected. Bore is dark but rifling still strong no pitting - very sml amt of rust around 1 side of front sight. Took it completely apart and all internal parts are cleaned up and working - feeds well on semi auto - bolt a little play but not terrible - shoots excellent - tight groupings at 100 yd with iron sights.

There are many, many variations of that same action and rifle. Savage, Stevens, and Springfield made them. A nice 6A that hasn't been "refinished" should bring $150-200. Enjoy the old rifle! :)

Does anyone know where you can get parts for this type of 22 - may need to replace a couple springs related to the semi-auto load feture.
Thanks,
Dave

Welcome aboard

Gill/Clackety-clack gun, nifty gems. Look cool, and have a unique action. The bolt doesn't close until the trigger is released, but fires from closed bolt (hence the clackety-clack sound). The charging handle can be pressed into the receiver for firing so it becomes a straight pull bolt action, and allow the use of all manner of .22 ammo. Only semi (self loading) with .22lr.

The few I've owned/fired were quite accurate. I've also encountered troubled gems, and they can be tricky little cusses too.
