Had this posted in the Gunsmithing Forum but didn't get a reply so I'm hoping that someone here might have an answer for me. I have a Savage model 775A - Browning Clone. The firing pin is rectangular shaped and there is no spring on it. Is this a free floating pin or is there suppose to be a spring on it. Any help would be great !

Free floating. The round pin was the only style that required a spring.
