So I bought another one of these. (The stainless Laminate bull barrel rifle, no thumbhole) Had one before and loved it. Then I just decided I had to get a new one. So at long last its here, but I think I need magpulls for it becuase the mags almost sit flush to the stock. I can just get my fingernails over the edges of the floorplate to pull it out.

Its not the mag. Its the stock. Its too fat on the bottom.

I was going to email savage about it, but they dont even have an email address listed on their site because they say that they get too many emails.

What the hell?

Anywho. Anybody else have this issue?

Savage does not accept emails, I had to write them about older Lakefield guns.

They do make 10-rounders, but even the 5-rounders and mag release tab hang below the stock. Something is up with that stock. Pics? That's the grey laminate stock, right?

Did the original owner attempt a quick and dirty bedding job with flat metal washers inside the stock? While it can be done (and often is an expedient bedding job on a 452 std or Lux) it will extend the length of the mag well.

I had a problem with the after-purchase mag that Savage sells. The two metal bits that stick out of the top/front were catching on the inside of the magwell. Couple passes of the dremel and they were flush and mag dropped right out when the release was pushed.
