Savage 93R17-TR, the new toy.

Wanted something cheaper to shoot but still put the rounds where I wanted out to 100 yards or so. Was thinking about doing another 10/22, but since I wanted to get into a .308 bolt later this year, I decided that a good training platform was in order. Looked around and the Savages caught my eye.... the TR model in particular.

Checked P&D and they had one instock according to their website, so I drove down and found it it had been sold yesterday. Diane, who overhead my talk with the sales guys called the distributor/warehouse in downtown Edmonton, 3 hrs later they had the last one in stock in my hands at P&D. Great service as always.

Took it out to the range today to get it on paper. 40 yards it was putting round on top of round with some Hornady V-MAX. Look forward to getting it out to 100+ and trying my luck.

Nice little tactical 17HMR...now for a Savage 10FCP HS precision Tactical 308 later on eh.
That set up should empty a mag into a thumbnail sized group @100yds on a calm day.

The TR comes with that stock...I believe I read somewhere Savage had them made by Boyds..as its the same as my Tacticool stock.

Enjoy the new rifle, the Savage 17HMR's are Shooters.

I had a target version and it just put all the shots into a ragged hole at the 100 yrd range. Awesome little guns

The stock comes with the Savage TR ( and TRR-SR) rimfire rifles. You can find the same stock (slightly different cut on the comb) from Boyd's. I believe they make all the laminate stocks for savage.

Was in WSS North Edmonton today... I know... but, they do have one TR model instock with the threaded barrel for $509 if anyone wants one. Well worth it I'd say.

I just bought a trr-sr .22 from ellwood eps, had it to my door in under a week. Amazing service and he has some .17 in stock last i checked. So happy with the accuracy of this gun.

Ordeing some of the 10 round 17HMR magazines in the next few days. I wanted 4, but the shipping is doubled on their website when they can all fit in the same envelope. ($15 shipping for 2, $30 shipping for 4)

They emailed me back saying a 4 pack with cheaper shipping will be on the website this week.

4 pack should be about in the high $80s low $90's

Looking forward to getting them, the 5 round mag has been killing me.
