Savage 99 250-3000 Schnabel Info Needed

Have a friend who has a Savage 99 in 250-3000.
Ser# 6524xx
Barrel 24"
Seems like fine checkering, Schnabel forend.
Receiver drilled for mounts(aftermarket by gunsmith in late 60's).
Has a Lyman rear apparently..removed.
About 70% with some light pitting.
Bore is quite clean
We are having trouble identifying the year of Mfg and the sub model..f,e,eg etc

For your Savage 99 serial number range you can determine the DOM by the code marked on the front of the lever.

Most likely around 1951
