I have come across one of these, condition is good with an extra coat of finish applied to the stock, too heavy and should be removed from the stock. Otherwise it's a hunted rifle but not abused, no rust or serious dings. Any idea of value on a savage in this caliber. Thanks Bill

Yep, same as my old one, a 99C.
It sounds to me like it's had something done to it, maybe refinished if it's carrying a couple more layers of clear coat but if it's still a good shooter then it's still a $500 rifle.
If it was an unbuggered 284 then the price would go alot higher but the money is gone when it's been messed with and not original anymore.
What is the guy asking for it? If you don't wanna post the price just p.m. me.
