Where colud i get the date of manufacture for a savage 99 rifle ?

Go to the Hunting and Sporting Arms forum and click on the sticky that says Firearms dating information. It has a link in it to savage99.com. It might help you find the manufacture date. I don't know if it will be all that helpfull though. I have a 99 in .300 savage as well and the only thing the website could tell me is that it was made after 1979. It's worth a shot though no? Hope this helps.

If it is a eary model, pre serial #566,000 whisch is1950 , post the
number and I give give you the date from the blue book.
No listing after 1950 for some reason, thou there are 99 collectors
here that may have more info.

Post the serial number with x's for the last two digits and I should be able to tell you the DOM. I have a few holes in my data, so if it is close to the transition on a few years I may only be able to narrow it down to a couple of years.
