just got a super deal on a 99 and I have notice that the only way to decock it is to dry fire it, is there something wrong?
 
IF it is the one with the lever mounted safety it can be de cocked. IIRC the top tang type safety equipped models cannot. To de #### the safety on the lever types open the action, depress the trigger and slowly close the lever. You will feel a slight take up on the trigger and then with a little wiggle and releasing the trigger the lever can be closed uncocked.
