savage 99e ammo

need some help herefolks. Due to some issues with my normal moose gun I have to use a Savage 99E .308 for next week's season. i've heard of some ammo not cycling through the lever properly. Any reccomendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I have never had an issue with a mod 99 having feeding issues with factory ammo. What have you been using? I would think any reputable ammo manufacturer's product should work fine. Maybe cycle a few through your rifle before heading out to make sure.

i have a savage 99 and have had no cycling problems with factory ammo i think you might have heard the newer marlin's have had cycling problems since remington took over do to manufacturing quality in the marlington's

All the ammo I tried through my 99E in .308 functioned perfectly.

99's

The 99's will digest anything you feed it in .308.

Unless your talking about the newer marlin .308 mx??? which have the soft tip, they are meant only for the marlin .308 they are a bit longer than the normal .308 rounds.
