Savage A17

I believe the delayed blow back is just a stronger spring. The reason it is used is because without it, the powder in the .17hmr would not have enough time to burn, causing a early ejection which will cause split casings and damage to the rifle.

Love mine, shoots very very close to the same as my cz 455t at 100 yards, had a rough start with it but after some rounds down The tube it is very reliable and consistent. Also have a second a17 unfired for sale, new in box
This group shot at 100yards

Have seen many positive reviews on this, buddy of mine was thinking of picking one up so maybe I will have to post my own review. I know savage came out with their own line of ammo for this gun or teamed up with federal.

Sorry for the delay, the ammo used is the cci A17 ammo, which is becoming more and more available even at Canadian tire, keep the gun clean and it will shoot and cycle great, was a bit of a slow start, but once fired some rounds through it (roughly 100), havnt had any issues since I've got a vortex viper hs on mine, seems to do the trick lol

I tried the A17 ammo in my Marlin and it didn't group as well as the Hornady 17gr. I now have a couple of boxes of A17 (minus about 10 rounds) for sale. :(

I've been curious about the rifle, but want to see how the heavy-barrel version shoots. If/when Savage comes out with one.
