I came cross a sale on the big store for A22 .22LR at $249 (C*bel*s).

I have a MarkII (very happy with it) and want a semi 22LR. Seems like this one is a good choice.

The down side I can think:
a) No aftermarket.
b) Petty new design.

So if anyone can share Pro and Con of this one?

Thanks

I bought one at the same sale.Amazing rifle.Great trigger and bolt action style accuracy. The Action is milled steel ,and smooth as butter.Savage seemed to put a lot into this rifle and it shows itself well as an excellent shooter. The 10 shot rotary mags are a little hard to load, so I bought a Butler Creek 25 round mag and it works extremely well.Very easy to load, with zero FFF or jams.

I have the wmr version. shoots holes that touch each other at 100 yards with the occasional 2" flier, probably the ammo. the only problem is that it FTE every 3-5 rds . well it really just fails to exit the receiver and gets slammed into the half chambered round binding both up.I have to have a knife handy to get it sorted and the incoming round is usually dented in the sidewall and wasted.

It seems to need special ammo to function properly.CCI makes A22 magnum ammo, that feed and functions perfect, but it is hard to get and expensive.
