What are your opinions on the newer style savage axis stock? I’ve got an older Axis2 762x39 and I’d like to upgrade the stock without adding much weight. I think I’d like to try the new style stock and see if it is an improvement?

Hi, my experience is limited as I only "fondled" one in a store. However, I found the stock to be really thin, as in very narrow and not beefy at all. With midsize hands, I had trouble getting a comfortable hold.
