Go easy on me, its my first post here!

Recently purchased (2 months ago) an Axis in .22-250.
Black synthetic, POS Bushnell 3-9x40 scope.
Have currently put between 100-150 rounds through it.
Broke in on light 45gr Winchester JHP, and currently shooting 3 different Hornady lines as well as 55gr Silvtertips.

Looking for parts now, can't buy something and leave it stock...

Ordering a Rifle Basix SAV1 trigger this week
(done a lot of research, and seems like it is well worth the $120 shipped)

Undecided on stock work yet
(i like the Boyd Featherlite thumbhole, but I have big hands and have had bad luck with thumbhole size... May just glass bead the factory synthetic stock)

Already purchased a Weaver 1-piece scope base
(Gonna wait to install it until i get a better scope)

Cheapest scope Im looking at is a Trophy XLT 4-12x40
(Been doing some research on Scorpion Copperhead 4-16x44)

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I might put a better scope on an Axis, but I would not spend any money on other upgrades. The scope you can keep down the road.

Thems cheap guns and not worth the $$ or effort. Shoot it as is and enjoy.

I put a timney trigger in mine, it wears a vortex viper 4-16x50 and a 20 moa rail. Just ordered a laminate stock from boyds as well. It is a heck of a shooter(223). Should be better once its in a stock that doesnt fold when you look at it.

Great choice on calibre, but if I could recommend one thing it would be stay away from the trophy 4-12. I have a 4-12 on my 308 hunting rig and its got horrible eye relief, the wife has a trophy 3-9 on her hunting rig and I'd say its a nicer scope. It has way better eye relief and you don't have to worry about adjusting the stupid front objective lens.

Put a decent scope and upgrade the trigger. Period. More money spent and you could bought a better gun in the place. That is probably an extra 250 bucks.

I clipped the trigger spring on my .243 Axis and have a Boyds stock and a Monarch 3 on order.
The way I see it there are enough of them out there that I can part it out if I get tired of it and get a good chunk of my money back... I bet cheap functional rifles like these get more people into shooting
sports than some high priced rig...

My .243 Savage Axis was modified with a couple of stiff aluminum rods epoxied into the forestock and some expandable foam in the buttstock. It consistently shoots under an inch at 100 yards, and well within minute of Coyote at 400 yards. Not too shabby for something some people consider a POS! Also, mine is a Youth Model with a shorter and lighter barrel. The slightly shorter stock is just right for me (and I am over 6 feet tall,) for Winter hunting when I am wearing a jacket. I get a more than adequate performance from an inexpensive rifle.
