Savage Axis 22-250

Anyone have issues with their Axis bolts in cold weather conditions? I shot a yote this morning and tried to reload for a follow up shot on his friend but found that the bolt wouldn't move all the way forward again.

I have the same gun in stainless and have not had any problems at all yet .not sure whats going on with yours .was the brass damaged in anyway after you tried to close the bolt ,Dutch

No damage to the brass. The firing pin doesn't seem to reset itself when eject the round. Pulled the bolt out. Manually reset the pin and it seems to be fine now. Guess I'll see what happens with it tomorrow. Definitely taking a back up with me tomorrow though.

used my 223 Axis in -28 weather a few weeks ago and all was fine. I've actually used it a lot in cold weather and never a hiccup.

Mine is stainless. No issues.. Just cant seem to find any ammo in the stores.
