Hello
First thanks for taking your time to answer my question.
I got a Savage Axis XP Bolt Action Rifle w/ Scope from Cabelas Canada. http://www.cabelas.ca//store/?ID=26831&section=1724
Took it today to the range got two box of 50 rounds and there was no hole on the paper in 50 yard range. The paper was 100 yard sighting target and the ammo was MFS 23 Remi 55gr FMJ Zinc plated.
Although on their website it said its scope is bore sighted but non of my shots (in 23 shots) did not hit the target.
I want to know what could be the reason and is there any possibility the ammo did not work properly, and also I want to know how I can make sure it is bore sighted and there is nothing wrong with scope setting?

Obviously it's not bore sighted properly. next time you go to the range set it up in your rest and pull the bolt out and look through the barrel and line it up with your target then look through your scope and adjust until your crosshairs match up with what you see through the bore. This will get you in the ballpark atleast then you can start shooting and adjust from there. You might also want to check to make sure all the mounting screws are tight too aswell.

Check all the fasteners to make sure they are tight, remember these are mass produced. Get a cheap laser sighter from your local shop, line it up as best as the sighter will let you. Move up to 25 meters fire three shots, have a friend watch the dirt to see where its hitting if its not hitting the paper. Good luck, let us know how you make out.

 Oh my... I'm going to guess by your handle that you're new to shooting or at least with rifles? I would suggest you have an experienced rifle shooter with you before going to sight in. Or at least get some good advice before hand. That rifle and ammo combo shouldn't be that far off target. I bought an Axis in .308 and was on paper the first shot with cheap Federal Power-shok ammo.

I also noted this post is in the precision rifle section. This is more for rifle shooters into high precision shooting, such as bench rest, using highly specialized and accurized rifles. A better section would be the hunting and sporting arms.

...try shooting at a closer target... Like 15-25meters...

Adjust as necessary... zero at 25 Meters should put you on paper at 100.

:agree: What these two said. Do a quick check to ensure the scope is close to bore sighted properly with the bolt removal technique. An experienced rifle shooter can help you with this. Check to make sure nothing is loose. You may have to remove the scope to check the scope base bolts. And start at 25m whenever you're sighting in a newly mounted scope. Experienced shooters can have the sighting in done with 3 or 4 shots.

i sighted my axis in at 25 then went to 50l...only took 9 rnds to get it dialed in...but i also bore sighted it first.

BTW i think its a great rifle for the money

Solid advice thus far.

Maybe I didn't read the OP right, but is your Axis in .223 Rem?
Also- I'd assume you're using the provided and mounted Bushnell scope?

Some tips I have, with experience with my .223 Axis.
1) If you have the funds, drop that Bushnell and get something thats not bargin bin. Check out Vortex Optics- available at both SFRC and One Shot Tactical- both are site sponsors.

2) Bore check before shooting. (user iamcanadian covered this) As well- sight in with shooting rests (bipod, front and/or rear bags)- this'll help immensely in stablizing your shot.

3) Still having trouble sighting it in? Might be the flinch reflex. Have a friend watch you while you shoot, so he/she can watch to see if you're flinching while shooting.
There's articles all over the internet about decreasing your flinch reflex.
