Savage B-Mag

My local dealer(s) don't have them yet here in S. Ontario, and they won't even guess if you ask for an ETA. Personally, I think the rifle looks cheesy...but it is inexpensive, and probably accurate being a Savage.

Yeah, any info on where or when they will he getting here, my dad asks me every day when there gonna be here, new hunting rules here for fox hunting, rimfire only, and he's just got a $1500 setup 2 years ago in 22-250 for fox and coyotes.

I keep asking the guys a cabelas and they always said they didnt know till one guy 2 weeks ago told me this time next year. Oh I hope thats not the case.

I have read about 5 different reviews in the gun mags, and not one of them has gotten better than 1.5" moa @ 100. (and these guys are accomplished shooters using very nice glass on the gun) Looks like either some ammo tweaking or rifle tweaking are still in order as there are already lots of guns in everyone's locker that shoot better than that. Possibly a better stock or barrel? Maybe the Winchester ammo needs some work before it is good, or more bullet options. I am less "excited" now after reading the reviews of the guns and ammo. Usually they give more glowing reviews, so when they are downright "Honest" about a gun/ammo combination, they are usually putting some sugar on it for the sponsors sake. I think I'll be taking a temporary pass until I see better results.

I have a feeling this whole thing is going to be a flop. Ammo is not as cheap as they claimed it was going to be and it's pretty damn close to 17hmr and some of those ones. As well, there's way better gun selection for existing rimfires (I know that's not really a fair comparison but it is the truth). You'll probably be able to reload some of the smaller centerfires for what the ammo is going to end up costing, and get way better performance. And for the price comparison vs .22lr ammunition I will just stick to switching between the .22 and .204.

That being said when it eventually gets worked out and comes out in a heavy barrel I will probably buy one.

LOL.... well said. I am picking one up tomorrow at Cabela's, they are getting them in today! I figure i'll wait for boyd's to release a thumbhole for it and get one, or sell it and buy the heavy (er) barreled competitors model! It would sure be nice if Remington makes one kinda after the M700 bdl heavy bbl models. With a real wood stock! Or even a Ruger #1! yikes.....

anyways, I can't wait, so i'll settle for the cheap plastic savage unit! Im curious to see how well the 8 shot rotary mag works with it? If its smooth and has no issues, its a good thing IMO! It would be nice if it came with scope bases as well, as there are no open sights, which is no loss IMO.
