Savage has apparently set up a heavy barrel B22 rifle in a MDT stock. The information just came out in October. Has anyone seen or tried one of these guns? They seem interesting.

The buggers should shoot like a dream with the ammo they prefer, and after checking out all the reviews on the B22 FV-SR model, I reckon they'll do just
fine with CCI ammo. Shoot like a champ for cheap.

I don't know why, but I dislike chassis. I find they are less user friendly to different shooting positions then traditional rifle stocks.

Anyone know what the price point would be? I have an FV-SR, and what made it great was the price tag. If the chassis model cost more than the Tikka or CZ...not worth it IMHO.

The Savage Arms site list the MSRP for the B22 Precision as $599 compared to the B22 FV-SR as $386. From my experience the actual price in Canada fairly closely matches the USD MSRP.

I agree the price point on the B22 FV-SR is a HUGE reason why its great. Having said that... I would buy a B22 in a MDT chassis over a Tikka for the same price without even thinking twice.

I'm fairly sure it isn't the LSS-RF Gen2 chassis. On Rimfire central someone mentioned it was an Oynx? Not too sure what that means but at that price point I'm guessing it is likely a kiddie version of the actual good stuff. If I'm wrong... Then I'm SOOO much more excited to see this in Canada than I already am.

Bumping an old thread...It's a custom chassis for Savage. Technically, its a cross between an LSS-RF and an Oryx in a way. No, this chassis is not available for purchase outside of the pairing with the rifle from the factory. And I can confirm they are shooters. We ran CCI Standard Velocity at the GAP Grind launch, and it was so accurate. Lots of people were doing full clears of the KYL rack we had set up at 50 yards with this in a hurry. There is also the A22 precision rimfire, which was as good as the B series. We have our LSS-RF available for the B22 and A22 already!

Yeah I don't even think it's remotely close. But then again I have a thing for Savage and really think Ruger has some terrible product coming out of their factory

Well, I ordered one from my local dealer. She tells me no one has received one yet. The moment I get it, I will mount a scope on it and report back. I suspect I will have to be patient. A totally made in Canada rifle. Can't wait. Just sorry that I can't afford to top it off with a Tangent Teta scope!
