Anyone own one of these? I'm interested in a chassis 22LR. I currently have a mk2 FV-SR that I have considered putting into an oryx chassis, but the current accuracy isn't wowing me. It could be the flimsy stock its in, or it could be the gun. I do like the look of the B22 precision and the target accutrigger is a big plus. The mags however look like the weak link. Any accuracy reports? Satisfied customers? Thanks for the input.

I have the B22 FV-SR.

The mags are a bit annoying to load, but I'm told you can dismantle them and take some tension off the spring while still working fine for bolt-action use. Haven't tried it yet though.

I was getting around 1.75 moa with Eley Club Extra at 100m yesterday outside, with a bit of a wind. Slightly worse with Federal AutoMatch. Haven't tried all my ammo yet to see what it likes best.

If you move the budget up to $1300 you could go with the CZ 457 LRP from Tesro. Lots more money but resolves all the issues and concerns you have.

Fair enough. Not sure I'm that interested in rimfire to jump my budget up so much. This is just for fun and to have a gun that is similar in feel to my chassis guns. I figured if people were having good experience with the B22 precision, I could add a 20 moa rail and a FFP scope and be under that $$ amount you mentioned for the CZ

I just set one up in the past week unfortunately for you I am new to the rifle stuff so my feedback would be limited. I put the EGW 20 MOA rail and an Athlon Talos FFP scope on it and got out last week. Was a really windy day but got it zero'd quickly at 50, basically making ragged one hole groups with CCI Mini Mags, used those simply because the day was about gophers not precision.

It ran like a top, no extraction issues I've seen some report and raised hell on the gopher population that day out to about 120 yards. The one thing I noticed is the mag does not like to lock in on a closed bolt, not sure if that is a normal rifle thing? The trigger is sweet! I shoot an Open division 2011 pistol in IPSC that has a 1.75 lb trigger and this trigger is every bit as good to my feel.

Hoping to get out this week sometime to test some Ely, SK and a few other premium rounds and see how good my newbie skills can shoot this thing.

Thanks for your insight. Where did you get the rail from? Thanks

This is with my B22 FV-Sr I had set up for MapleSeed last year. This was at Xmas at 50m laying in a snowy field at the farm. Regular federal bulk 36 grain.

I have the b22 precision and I love it. My mags are easy to load now, left them loaded for 24 hours to help with the spring and just general use they have got much better. It is hard to seat the mag when the bolt is closed, I agree with that.
I haven't had much time lately to try different ammo but last time I was at the range I put 10 shots at 50 yards in a group just under half an inch, using CCI standard velocity.
I have a bunch more ammo to try, I have heard very positive things about this rifle and CCI greentag which I have a bunch of to try.
I did have minor extraction issues, but I got Savage to send me new springs and extractors, I just doubled up the spring on the bolt which is super easy and haven't had an issue since.
The trigger is fantastic for an out the box trigger.

I doubled the spring clip on mine and that got rid of the extraction issues. Still working on finding the magic bullet it likes the most. I left the original rail on the gun and had no problem zeroing the scope for a 100 yards. I did not see if I could zero at 200 yards, but using Kentucky windage to hit an 8 inch gong at 200 yard was easy enough.

Up to now I like the rifle a lot.

Got to the range today with a chance to do a bunch of shooting and test different types of ammo. I have no idea what would be considered good or impressive results as I am new to rifle stuff as I mentioned earlier. Today was the first time I have done any amount of bench shooting and I found it very difficult to get settled and have the gun on target, previous outings were prone and I found that much easier for some reason. Some of my less than ideal testing results I know when I repeat I can improve as the 5 shot groups had 1 flyer likely caused by me.

I tested 15 different types of ammo today with 5 shot groups at 50 yards. The best results were Ely Force .387, CCI SV .499, SK Pistol Match .576, CCI Green Tag .631, and SK Magazine .774. The rest were between .800 and 1.100.

Before we left for the day My wife and I each tried a single 10 shot group at 100 yards, she managed a group of 1.621 to my group of 2.186, maybe I should get her to test the ammo next range trip lol.

Still no extraction issues for me. One thing I did check as I saw it reported on another forum was that the bolt is putting a slight scratch in the round it is chambering. I have 3 mags and have not had any issues and they continue to get easier to load as they get more use, like a previous poster I also loaded them and left them loaded when new.

Sounds like there is some good potential there.

I have now decided to order a chassis for my mk2 FV-SR, 20 moa rail, and new scope and work with what I have. I would like the target trigger but I can make due with the regular accutrigger

After a couple hundred rnds my extraction issues started. I cleaned mine and pinched the spring clip tighter around the bolt. So far so good. If it comes up again I’ll call for parts.

I used to get extraction issues with my MK II FV. A lot of it was the CCI SV ammo with an excess amount of lube.

The box on the left with gobs of lube was a big issue with fail to ejects. Used rest of that brick in my A22 with no issues.
IMO the lube melts on the shot and before you can eject the lube 'freezes' to the chamber walls and the brass is stuck in the chamber.

No problem with the box on the right.

Hmmm, my issues started when I ran out of Mini Mags and switched to CCI SV which did appear a bit greasy comparatively.

Anyone found any particular ammo theirs likes? All I've shot through mine is some CCI SV but at some point I hope to get around to testing some Lapua, SK and Eley.
