Savage BA110 Sticky Bolt Qn

This is my first BA110 so I thought I'd toss this qn out there. New Savage BA110, 338 Lapua.

The bolt jams up...ie can't pull it back or forward...unless you pull it straight back holding the top of the bolt handle (where it attached to the bolt) for a perfectly straight pull. If you try to pull or push it while holding the bolt knob it binds.

It's been cleaned and lubed, even over lubed once to see if that helped. Any suggestions? I have a Savage 10FP and it has a really smooth action and a smooth bolt with no marks on it. I could probably polish the bolt as you can see the machining lathe marks but I wanted to get other peoples opinions first.
 
As long as there is no dirt or gunk in the raceway, the bolt should slide easily back and forth like you experienced with your other Savage.

If the action anti bind raceway is not machined properly, there may not be enough clearance which is causing the binding (ironic isn't it).

The clearance between the bolt the rear of the action may be machined too small.

BUT what I am thinking as a likely issue is the scope rail bolts are too long and binding on the top of the bolt. Check that first.

I checked the screws first, even took the base off just in case, no help. The brass also has some big scratches in it. I think I'll call Savage tomorrow. You can hear the lathe marks/rings on the bolt hitting the reciever when you move the bolt.
 
purchased a Savage 12LRPV .223 from Cabelas, when received discovered that the bolt scratches on safety lever and turns safety ON.....
went to 2 local gun stores to see if other Savages have similar problem - NOTHING like that.....
sent rifle back to Cabelas....weisted 2 weeks of time to hear "We checked our other guns and all of them the same, all bolts slide right on safety...so, it`s not a problem"....
but when I told them that they don`t have this model in stock and they cant check it, I heard "Sh*t, it`s on order, and we can`t check it" - she told it to somebody else, but not me........
so, I requested refund....will see
 
The baffle and bolt head are tumbled at the factory to remove sharp edges. If they are not tumbled enough they can bind. Take a look at the bolt head and baffle to see if the edges are rounded and smooth. The bolt body does not bind, it may drag due to a rough finish but it shouldn't bind, it is case hardened.
