Savage bling mag question

I have a custom 110 Savage SA and the bullets I am using are too long for the blind magazine as I am shooting 75gr in 223. I want to convert it to single shot. What do I need to do. I know I will have to remove the magazine and get a single shot follower. What else should I look at. Want I want to be able to do is just drop a bullet in the action and then close it and shoot and not have to manually feed the bullet into the action, cuz its too slow and clumsy. Thanks

I have a Savage Model 12 with the blind mag. All I did was purchase a single shot follower, and install it over the present follower and spring.That is what the instructions said to do.....Ken
