Hey guys!
Well, If you havnt seen theother BMag thread, I finally got myself the new Savage Bmag yesterday. I got home to find that the stock issues the neighboring yankee's compalined about certainly were not addressed by savage at all. The barrel was no where close to free floating. The barrel made contact around the middle of it, and the stock was slightly bowed. I took it apart and wanted to fully free float it, without doing a bunch of grinding, and voiding the warranty. I did however use a socket and some sandpaper to slightly "knock down" the ribs in the fore arm. I found that it still made contact, and would have had to grind a whole lot down.
So, I had to find another solution. I took an empty .223 case, and cut the bottom off (dremel cutting wheel), then I cut a thin sliver, about 1mm off the case, and found it fit perfect in the forearm bolt area in front of the magwell, acting kinda like a pillar. A small, thin washer would do the trick, but I coudn't find one as thin, with the proper profile. I had to file it down a bit untill it was approx .5mm thick. I dropped that down into the bolt hole and put it back together. Perfect, well, almost. The BBL mow is contact free all along the fore arm, but the "bottom metal/trigger guard) would no longer snap in place, as the latch was up about .5mm as well, due to the washer. I used a thin needle file to take just a wee bit of the lip that snaps it on, off the (botton metal/plastic trigger guard). It snaps right on, very tight now.
Now, if i need to send it back to savage, there is no apparent heavy grinding done, or anything to deny me warranty, as i can just pop the little spacer back out and it appears stock again, back to non free floating crap-tastic original fashion... ;-)
Here are a couple pics, to get the general idea, i took with my cell. Its so flippin cold out today, I wont even bother sighting it in, but apparently its supposed to warm right up for tomorow, so i'll get it sighted in, and see what it can do accuracy wise! I'll come and update here.....

Better Pic! ;-)
I hope this may help some other Bmag owners, as I'm sure if you guys decide to fix the stock issue, you dont want to void your warranty's! This should help, as the stock issue, I have yet to see if there are any others that will jump out and bite me when I get it out to the range.....
