I faxed Savage about two years ago requesting that they build a 20 gauge fully rifled bolt action. It would be nice to dream that they ran with my request. It would even be nicer if they would have sent me a free one.

Any particular reason why a 20 GA rifled slug gun?

I thought there are more choices on 12 GA rifled bolt gun currently the 210F and Mossy used to make the 695 and the pricey Tar-Hunt.

Is 20 GA better than the 12 GA besides easier on the shoulder?

20 Ga is a great deer gun. lighter to carry, not as much recoil, cheaper to shoot, and they have a flatter trajectory. I know what your thinking, bigger is better gotta get a 12Ga, not so. 20 Ga hit just as hard and at the same distance as the 12Ga,. But its all about going with what your comfortable, use what is a fit for you.

A Savage 20Ga slug gun in a bolt would be sick. I think Mossberg came out with some thing like that awhile ago in a 12Ga, but they went away in a hurry? Don't think they were very popular so they dropped it?

I have an array of fully rifled bolt action shotguns. I will be doing comparison shooting and slug testing during holidays in July.
