Here are a few pics of my Savage BVSS .22-250 sporting a Bushnell Elite 6500 4.5-30x50mm in Burris Z-rings.

I couldn't get to the range on sunday due to weather so I figured I would play with my Camera its not a DSLR as they have too many features for the wife. I'm looking for advice on taking better photos I'm using a Nikon P90.

You have any gophers (Richardson's ground Squirrels) in your neck of the woods? I would like to hear stories about that beast being let off it's chain at a sod rat - preferably in that 200 - 250 yard range.

Looks good! Can't wait to see some targets after you get it sighted in;) Try taking a few pics outdoors for some better light.

Thanks fellas I am doing load development we were supposed to hit the range sunday but it was snowing and windy. I'm currently playing with 50 & 55gr Vmax's over IMR4895 gun is shooting 5/8" 3shot groups with factory OAL going to try out the next round of hand loads then start playing with seating depth. I had no problems smacking the 10" gong at 300yds with my test loads.

No ground squirrels here for me to plink got to get out and call some yotes! I neverhave any luck calling them in though so don't hold your breath this gun might punch more paper then vermin.

Well load development is on its way to being done. I tested my final loads today and loaded this batch of 55gr vmax bullets at an OAL of 2.499" up from 2.350" bullets are now 10thou off the lands.

Groups shot at 200yds next to no wind and overcast

Yes it does I ran through the whole range with IMR4895 and couldn't get much better then 3/4" then bam my starting load of RL 15 goes 1/2" I was stoked! then I backed it up with a .5gr hotter load that went 5/8th's might try that one again....My previous personal best was 3/4" that was factory OAL and no accuracy work done to the rifle....All Groups were shot off a Bi-pod with no sand bags just my shoulder

The rifle is now bedded and the bullets are 10thou off the lands it has made a huge difference it really woke the rifle up. Every load I tested was 1" or under so by bedding the rifle and moving the bullets out cut my group size nearly in half!......

I need a Chrony anyone know a good place to pick one up?

Oh heres a pic from the 200yd mark

Thanks for the kind words!

Rig_pig it is a 1-12ROT.....I was thinking about getting some Hornady 68gr BTHP's but don't know if they will stabilize might be nice to have a better BC once I start streching its legs.

your 1-12" twist will stabilize up to 60gr pills, but you'll need more spin to stabilize the longer/ heavier bullets. Looks like it will shoot the lighter ones quite nicely though!

Ya I hear the 63gr will work as well from other BVSS owners... My rifle likes the hotter loads so I might be able to load a slower powder like RL19 at near max behind the 68gr. I don't know if I want to mess with it now likely wont get much better then my results with 36gr RL15 under a 55gr vmax.......

That is damn fine shooting off a bipod in the snow. Maybe I'm just shakier than the average dude here, but I would be extremely pleased with those results.

Mark

Thanks Mark!

I always shoot a few practice groups before shooting my test loads to get settled. I am really working on my breathing and timing my shots with my natural movements.
