How many have had there clips break on them?. First time shooting my 30-06 axis and 4th round from the recoil the plastic clip on the backend snapped right off . Bullets all dropped ,no longer under pressure. I would post a picture but I don't know how . Says url only not sure how that works.

You got one of these to fit an Axis? No wonder it broke!

Axis clips are readily avliable just about anywhere. Order online from just about anywhere (BP, Cabelas, WSS) your local CT likely stocks them.
As for the price well that's a different story.!

I'm assured Axises (Axes?) are just as good as Tikkas, and I've never had a Tikka mag break, ergo, Moonlight won best picture.

This isn't a joke. It's Moonlight.

What's even more insulting then the piss poor construction of the mags is the price.... Looking at about $55 now for one of those POS mags.

You ever have any trouble with your 783 mags?

Not yet.... Little different design, the locking clip is spring steel with some plastic on the end for the lock. The little clip can actually be replaced...if it does break, you don't have to buy a whole new mag. New mags are only $30 though which isn't bad.
Sadly, I'm down to one 783 only now...my first which was a 30'06. I got a sick deal on a S2 in 7rm so I couldn't justify having 2 and sold the 783 to a buddy. I was going to keep it and turn it into a 264Win but money is a little tight right now. Bleh.

I've had a .223 axis for several years now with many hundreds of rounds through them and both magazines for it work just fine. No they aren't as refined as they could be but I haven't had them fall out or break at all.

My 7-08 Axis has the thick plastic magazine tab, but you only have to depress it maybe an eighth of an inch to release it, I can't see how normal use would cause it to fail. I could see it failing if it were pried away from the mag body. I have seen the small metal tab of a 110 model break on one fellow at the range, but he had bought the rifle used and again who knows how that one was treated.
