My dad was able to pick up a Savage combo single shot rifle in 22 hornet and 410 gauge. It appears to be manufactured somewhere in the 60's the rifle overall appears to be in pristine condition from what he has described. He said it looks like it is take down rifle with what appears to be a factory canvas storage bag. I have had a hard time finding anything to compare it to. Does anyone have an idea of fair market value on this rifle ?? Thank you in advance for any and all info.

A while back I ended up with a 22/20 gauge with a factory soft folded case.
It was a "Camper Special".
I really had no idea what I had and tossed it in the EE for I believe $550.00
Hit the button on the bottom right to post it and qwicker than a bat can blink an eye
the "I'll take it" appeared.

Given the Hornet is a rare breed, I'm guessing somewhere in the $750 range?

I'd snewp down south to git a feel what the taste buds down there arrr awffer'in.
I know our market is a tad different, but it would be a good starting point to inform the
mind what the fingers will grab.

Photos..............pleeeeeeeeeeeze.

I'd agree with Kamlooky somewhere between 500 and 800 should see it sell. Hornet and .410 is a rarer combination and you may be able to get more, if you find the right buyer. Pictures would certainly help.

Thank you for the replies, I apologize I can't post pics right away I don't have access to a PC for a few days. I was able to take a look at it this afternoon it seems to be in ok shape for a 50-60 year old rifle. It has been well used over the years but in overall good shape. Two separate barrels one is indeed 22 hornet and the other 410 gauge. It has the original canvas bag to carry everything. The 22 hornet barrel also has a Lyman 438 field sight as well. If anyone is interested I would love to forward pictures via email to those interested in taking a look. At this point with the field site included $800-875 wouldn't be out to lunch would it ??

It has Savage model 220 stamped on one side of the 22 hornet barrel. Other then 410 nothing much else is stamped on the 410 barrel. No visible serial numbers we are estimating anywhere from 60-70 years old ?? My father is now 65 and he remembers shooting this rifle when he was 15 or so and it was wasn't new at that time. I appreciate everyone's input and I'm more then willing to send pics via email to better estimate value.

We also came across a Savage model 99C lever action in 300 savage with a nice looking Weaver model 330 mounted on it as well.

My mistake in quoting you 500-800 ish, I had the impression from your description it was a savage 24. I am afraid I am not as familiar with the model 220's and there value. I've seen the 30-30's with out a shotgun barrel go locally for 450-550. I can't say for certain the value but it sounds like a fun little walking the woods gun.

Hookie, the tide has shifted awn this one.

Do tell, is this a single receiver with two separate bawrills?
Pick and choose witch one yer gonna yewse?
Nawt the O/U sort?

Well chit, now I'm awll kawnfewsed.

Well, this thread caught my eye somehow.
So opening the Blue Book of Gun Values 32 nd Edition on page 1640 Luke your camper special would have a suggested American value of $625.00 in 100% condition down to $275 at 60%.
Your model would have had a nickel finish with a 20” cylinder bore and the but plate would slide open to stow some .22 ammo and a 20 gauge round in there for follow up.5-3/4 pounds and made from72-88.

The one the op might be describing might be the model 24v .22 hornet discontinued in 1984.
They changed to the under lever opening in front of trigger Gaurd circa 1980.
So, from 1967-1984...
$495.00 -$225.00@60% ...
Then again it the markets are different between Canada and the USA and of course the book I am referencing from is outdated.
And of course the detractors who do not value the information from the Blue Book will always say so.

The guy from loogie lake has a point or two piktchures will tell the story , but it is a cool gun and a cool little caliber.
Thank You for sharing.

Yes kamlooky one receiver two barrels and matching wood forestock for each . It is some sort of factory take down type combo single shot break barrel and the scope on the 22 barrel is a huge bonus. Send me a PM with your email and I will send pics

Ok, so we have more information.
From the BBGV 32 Nd Edition the model 220 single barrel was made from 1938to 1965.
They list the caliber and gauges from $125 to $40 down to 60%.
Back a few pages they listed the rifle barrels the same values.
The Barrels ranged from 26”-32” and the various chokes and caliber, hammerless , plain pistol grip stock.

Again, my info is dated and may or may not reflect the opinions of others.

I believe he has a 219 savage. single shot . They were also marked 220 if they came with a shot gun barrel ///but mostly the shotgun barrels were marked model 220 .. A 220 shot gun barrel will fit a model 219 rifle .. I have a 219 here and it has a 30-30 barrel .. also has a 410 barrel that has model 220 on it and it fits the 219 frame .. i also have a 20 gauge barrel and it is also marked model 220 and fits the 219 frame .. So My guess is he has a Savage 219 with the 22 hornet rifle barrel and a 410 shotgun barrel
