savage edge

Hey and good day just bought for my son a 243 black syn took it to the range last week after about 6 shot it was shooting about 1.5 to 2 inch groups at 100yds with 100 grain rem core-loks it is his first rifle and deer opening in saskatchewan nov 15 so we will see. but so far seems ok ...:)

I just bought one in 223 and so far very pleased. Just working up hand loads but I see this to be a sub 1" rifle if I do my part and with good loads. I don't know about larger cals but I have not seen many complaints.

I have one in .223Rem and out of the box it is excellent for the price! It could become the Volkswagon of the firearms community - the "people's gun", because of price and utility considerations.

So far great.

I have put over a 100 rounds through it with multiple trips to the range. It is shooting cheap factory rounds around 1 and 1/2 inches at 100 meters that's with the cheap scope on it. A good buy and is going to make a great coyote gun this winter, no worries about banging this one around in the truck and the mag makes it in my opinion better than the Stevens which I used to own.

I thought maybe the dealer made a mistake when he said only 299.99 for the black or 349 for the camo version,,,,thanks,,,I know what to get my son for X-mas now

Use the search bar, there are other threads like this.

That being said, I bought one in .223 for a cheapo plinker/varmint gun.
Shoots around 1" with american eagle and corelockts, I haven't tried anything better.
Great little gun for the price, would probably kick like a mule in 30-06, as its light.

edge in 25 06

would this have too much kick for a youth or no more than say a 243,,my son shoots a 20 guage but with a little reluctance,,don't want him afraid of the kick,,thanks

I handled one at the local shop. I found the bolt stiff to move upwards. It seemed to get caught halfway in the upwards motion. Exert a little extra force and it would go all the way. Im sure that issue would get taken care of with a little use. Other then that i liked what i saw. However i would pick up a Stevens 200 instead though. There is a whole lot more aftermarket parts for it. I dont think they are called Edges anymore. I do believe thier name was just changed recently.

Mind if I ask were you received the quote; I'm getting quotes of $100 more than that.
Thanks

Thats what Gagnons in Oshawa ,,,sent them another to see if it comes with the scope,,,heres the reply

We can order one, depending on which calibre you'd like. The black synthetic is $299.99 and the camo version is $349.99. I does come in youth.
